Reproductive Health

Reproductive health implies that people are able to have a responsible, satisfying and safer sex life and that they have the capability to reproduce and the freedom to decide if, when and how often to do so. The WHO assessed in 2008 that "Reproductive and sexual ill-health accounts for 20% of the global burden of ill-health for women, and 14% for men." According to UNFPA, reproductive health at any age profoundly affects health later in life. The lifecycle approach incorporates the challenges people face at different times in their lives such as family planning, services to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and early diagnosis and treatment of reproductive health illnesses.

At Bountiful Family Healthcare we address the reproductive processes, functions and system at all stages of life. Reproductive health is essential in the overall health of our patients. We educate patients about reproductive choices, we can offer IUD and explanation insertions and family planning consultations. We believe that it is important that our patients are informed of and have access to safe, effective and acceptable birth control, and have access to appropriate reproductive medicine. We can test for and treat for diseases of the reproductive tract, sexually transmitted diseases, and other reproductive health conditions. As a women's body changes with age we are able to treat and educate about these changes. We are able to treat menopausal symptoms with hormone replacement therapy.
